Types of orthodontics in True Smile Center.

In our clinic we offer various types of orthodontics, being at the forefront with the most modern and innovative techniques and types of orthodontics so that our patients can choose the one that best suits them and adapts to their needs.

• Conventional Orthodontics:

This is metal orthodontics (in most cases), the best known and used by most people.

This type of orthodontics is made up of small Brackets that are placed individually on each tooth that are joined together through a fine metal thread, fixing it with special small elastomers (elastic rubber bands) to be able to advance in the treatment plan.

In conventional orthodontics according to the material from which they are made We can find 3 types of Brackets:

1. Metal brackets
2. Ceramic Braces
3. sapphire brackets

• Self-ligating Orthodontics:

Self-ligating Brackets have a passive self-ligating orthodontic system, that is, they do not need colored elastomers (elastic rubber bands) to adapt and join the arch.

In self-ligating orthodontics, according to the material from which they are made, we can find two types of Brackets:

1. Metal self-ligating brackets
2. Damon Clear Braces; These are cosmetic as they are clear or tooth-colored. They are made of transparent ceramic, which does not discolor or stain with the ingestion of foods such as coffee, wine or foods with a lot of coloring.

Some of the advantages of Self-ligating orthodontics

1. Elastomers (colored rubber bands) are not necessary, which gives the advantage of being able to make the visit more frequently, that is, every 2 months or 2 and a half months.
2. Treatments are slightly faster, since the tension or force on the teeth is permanent
3. Lighter forces with less tension
4. Greater comfort for the patient (compared to conventional orthodontics)

• Invisible Orthodontics:

Invisible orthodontics is perhaps the most aesthetic type of orthodontics that exists to date. It is performed using splints called invisible aligners, custom-made for each patient with a completely transparent material.

These invisible aligners are removable, the patient can remove them when eating.
