How are periodontal diseases prevented?
To prevent periodontal diseases, you must take the following into account:
- Oral hygiene: use correct brushing technique, brush after every meal, use dental floss and alcohol-free mouthwash.
- Control appointments: visit your dentist at least every 6 months, if you suffer from systemic diseases, such as diabetes, attend your control appointments every 3 months.
- Healthy and balanced diet: try to eat a diet low in sugars and carbohydrates.
